Action Razz is a Razz variant with a twist: to win the pot, a player must hold a qualifier — at least one Jack, Queen, or King in their hand. Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all ranked equally for the purpose of the qualifier rule. Aces are always low.

All players post an ante. Aces are always low in Action Razz.
The Deal & Streets
Identical to standard 7-Card Stud: two cards face-down + one door card face-up on third street, then one face-up card per player on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets, and a final face-down card on seventh street.
Bring-In
The player with the highest door card must bring in (High Card Bring-In). Aces count as low, so a King is the worst bring-in card.
The Qualifier Rule
To win the pot, a player's best five-card hand must contain at least one Jack, Queen, or King. These three ranks are considered equal for comparison purposes — a hand with a Jack qualifies the same as a hand with a King.
If only one player qualifies, that player wins regardless of hand strength
If multiple players qualify, the best five-card Razz hand (lowest) among qualifiers wins
If no player qualifies, the pot reverts to regular Razz — best five-card low hand wins with no qualifier required
Best Hand
4-3-2-A plus any face card (J=Q=K for this purpose). The face card serves as the required qualifier while the other four cards form the best possible Razz low.
Strategy Tips
You need at least one face card in your final seven cards to qualify — but you also need four low cards to compete
If opponents have no face cards visible by fifth or sixth street, they may not qualify — adjust your bet sizing accordingly
A player with only low cards showing may be drawing for a qualifier — watch the upcards carefully
If it looks like no one will qualify, the game reverts to regular Razz — pure low hands become valuable again
