These terms cover your use of pokergamedatabase.com and of Player One Poker, the game delivered through it. Using the site means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be survived.
Poker Game Database ("we", "us") publishes reference material on the rules of poker game variants, and makes a single-player poker game called Player One Poker. The reference material is free to read.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in California have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you live somewhere whose law grants you rights that cannot be waived by an agreement like this one, those rights still apply to you.
Home poker is regional and inconsistent, and it always has been. The rules here are researched carefully and audited against published tournament rules, but they describe common practice rather than dictate it. The house rules of the game you are actually sitting in take precedence over anything on this site. We are not responsible for how a dispute at your kitchen table gets settled.
Nothing here is gambling advice, financial advice, or an inducement to gamble. Player One Poker is played against computer opponents with no real money, no prizes, and no cash-out of any kind.
Buying Player One Poker grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play it on devices you own or control, up to the device limit in force at the time. You do not own the software itself; you own the right to use it under these terms.
You may not resell it, redistribute it, publish or share your license key, or attempt to defeat the licensing mechanism. Sharing a key publicly is the one thing that will get a license revoked without a refund.
Reverse engineering is permitted only to the extent that applicable law says it cannot be prohibited.
The free variants stay free. The set of purchasable variants may grow, and individual games may change as rules or balance are corrected — a purchase covers whatever is available under it at the time and afterwards, at no extra cost.
We aim to keep the site and the licensing service running, but neither is guaranteed to be available without interruption. Once activated, the game runs offline and does not depend on us being up.
Checkout runs on Stripe Managed Payments, which means
Link is the merchant of record for your purchase. In plain
terms: Link is the seller on the transaction, the charge appears on your
statement as LINK.COM* followed by our descriptor, and Link
handles payment processing, sales tax and VAT, and any chargeback or payment
dispute.
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency stated there, inclusive of taxes where required. Link's own terms govern the payment transaction itself. These terms govern your license to the software and your use of this site — the two sit side by side, and neither replaces the other.
Refunds are covered by the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
Do not attack the site, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or use the contact form to send abuse or bulk mail. Reasonable personal or educational reuse of the rules text is fine and welcome; wholesale republication of the content as your own is not.
The text, layout, illustrations, animations, and code on this site are ours except where credited otherwise on the about page. The rules of poker are not anyone's property; our particular explanation of them is. If you believe something here infringes your rights, use the contact form and we will look at it promptly.
Links to other sites are offered for convenience or credit. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do.
The site and the game are provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, and our total liability for any claim arising out of the site or the game is limited to the amount you paid us — which for most people is zero, and at most is the price of the game.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, and nothing here removes any statutory consumer rights you have where you live.
These terms may be updated; the date at the top will change when they are. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised version. A change that materially reduces what you bought will not be applied retroactively to a purchase already made.
