Community Card Game · Blinds · Pot Limit · Split Pot · 8 Qualifier · 7 Players Max
Overview
Big Easy is a flexible variant of Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo where players are dealt at least 5 hole cards — the exact starting hand size (5, 6, or more) is determined by the player who calls the game. Six cards is the most common. The standard Omaha rule still applies: exactly two hole cards + exactly three community cards must be used. With more starting cards, players have far more two-card combinations to work with, making Big Easy one of the most action-packed Omaha variants. The pot is split between the best high hand and the best qualifying low (8-or-better).

Key Rules
IMPORTANT: Players must use EXACTLY 2 hole cards + EXACTLY 3 community cards for both their high hand and their low hand. The same two cards or different two cards may be used for each.
Variable Hand Size
The player who calls the game sets the starting hand size — 5, 6, or more cards. Six hole cards is the most common form. The extra cards reduce table capacity: with six cards dealt to each player, the game plays up to 7 players.
Split Pot
Half the pot goes to the best HIGH hand
Half the pot goes to the best qualifying LOW hand
If no player qualifies for low, the high hand wins the entire pot
The same player can win both halves (a "scoop")
Low Hand Qualification (8 Qualifier)
To qualify for low, a player must make five unique ranks all 8 or lower using exactly 2 hole cards + 3 community cards. Aces count as low. Straights and flushes do not count against a low hand.
Best Low Hand
A-2-3-4-5 (the "wheel") is the best possible low hand. In lowball ranking, lower is better — compare from highest card down.
The Big Easy Advantage
With six hole cards you have fifteen possible two-card combinations — far more than standard Omaha. This makes it much easier to simultaneously hold a strong high-hand combination and a low-qualifying combination in the same starting hand.
Strategy Tips
A player may use different two-card combinations for high and low hands
Six hole cards gives you 15 two-card combos — use them to find both a high and low hand
Look to scoop: win both halves for the entire pot
With more cards in play, the game is best played short-handed (7 players max with 6 cards)
If the board runs all high, no one qualifies for low and the high hand wins it all
