Stud Game · Antes · Low Card Bring-In · 8 Players Max · Best 5 of 7
Overview
Mississippi Stud is a 7-card stud variant with a unique dealing twist: after the initial 2-down/1-up deal, one street deals 2 upcards simultaneously to each player instead of 1. This gives players 7 cards total, with the best 5-card hand winning. The extra card and the double-deal street create a faster, more action-packed game than traditional 7-card stud. First-round action starts with the low card bring-in; subsequent rounds are led by the highest hand showing.

IMPORTANT: Mississippi Stud deals 7 cards total but you only use the best 5. There is no requirement to use a specific number of hole cards — use any 5 of your 7 cards.
The Deal & Betting
Ante: All players post an ante
3rd Street: 2 cards face-down + 1 card face-up each → low upcard posts the bring-in
Mississippi Round (4th & 5th Street):2 upcards dealt simultaneously to each player → Bet (high hand showing acts first)
6th Street: 1 upcard each → Bet
7th Street: 1 upcard each → final Bet → Showdown
Showdown
Best standard 5-card poker hand from your 7 cards wins. Choose any 5 of your 7 individual cards — no community cards, no Omaha-style restrictions.
Mississippi vs 7-Card Stud
Mississippi Stud deals 7 upcards total (2 down + 5 up) vs 7-Card Stud's 4 down + 3 up arrangement
More visible cards means more information — opponent reads are easier but your own hand is also more exposed
The double-deal Mississippi Round speeds up the game and quickly reveals whether drawing hands are live
Like 7-Card Stud, a "spit card" (shared community card) may be used if the deck runs short at a full table
