OXFORD STUD

Overview

Oxford Stud is a stud/community hybrid closely related to Billabong. Each player receives 4 individual cards (2 face-down initially, then 1 more face-up after the community round), while 3 community cards are dealt to the center (2 simultaneously, then 1). Players use any combination of their 4 individual and the 3 community cards (7 total) for the best 5-card hand. Split pot: high hand vs best 5-card low using ranks A–8.

The Deal & Betting

• Ante: All players post an ante
• 3rd Street: 2 individual face-down + 1 individual face-up → lowest upcard posts bring-in
• Community Round: 2 community cards face-up to center → Bet (high hand showing acts first)
• 4th Street: 1 individual face-up each → Bet
• Final Community: 1 community card face-up → Bet → Showdown

Oxford Stud vs Billabong

• Oxford Stud: 4 individual + 3 community = 7 cards
• Billabong: 3 individual + 4 community = 7 cards
• Both use same split-pot rules and bring-in structure; the ratio of individual to community cards changes the balance of private vs shared information
