Overview

Rio Bravo 8 is Rio Bravo with a hi/lo-8 split. Each player gets 2 individual cards face-down, then shares a 5-card community board, then receives a final individual card face-down after the river. Best 5-card high hand and best qualifying low (five unique ranks ≤8) split the pot. No Omaha restriction — you may use any combination of your 3 hole cards and the 5 community cards.

Hand Construction

KEY RULE: Use any combination of your 3 individual cards and the 5 community cards to make the best 5-card high and/or low hand. No minimum number of hole cards required — you may use 0, 1, 2, or all 3.

Split Pot — 8 Qualifier

The pot splits between:

Dealing Order

  1. 2 hole cards face-down → Pre-flop betting (SB first)
  2. Flop: 3 community cards → Flop betting (SB first)
  3. Turn: 1 community card → Turn betting (BB first)
  4. River: 1 community card → River betting (BB first)
  5. Final card: 1 individual card face-down → Final betting (BB first) → Showdown
