Stud Game — High/Low Split with Double Qualifier · 8 Players Max
Overview
Seven-Card Stud Double Qualifier is a split-pot variant where BOTH halves of the pot require a qualifying hand. High needs two pair or better; low needs five unique unpaired ranks all 8 or below (8-or-better, aces play low). If a side has no qualifier, those chips go to the other qualifier — or if neither qualifies, the pot is split among remaining players.
Watch a Sample Hand
Step through five streets — the high qualifier wins the top half, the low qualifier takes the bottom half, while the unqualified hand gets nothing.

The Deal & Streets
Third Street: Two cards face-down + one face-up (door card)
Bring-In: Player with highest door card must bet (high card bring-in)
Fourth–Sixth Streets: One card face-up each; player with best low showing acts first
Seventh Street: One card face-down; final betting round
Double Qualifier Rules
High qualifier: Must have two pair or better
Low qualifier: Must have five unique unpaired ranks all 8 or below (A-8 qualifier, aces play low)
If no one qualifies HIGH → the entire pot goes to the best LOW qualifier
If no one qualifies LOW → the entire pot goes to the best HIGH qualifier
If neither side qualifies → the pot splits equally among remaining players
Bring-In
The player with the highest door card on third street must bring in. On fourth street and beyond, the player with the best low visible hand acts first.
Strategy Tips
One pair does NOT qualify for high — you need two pair minimum
Chasing low? Make sure your door card is ≤8 and that you have room for 5 unique low ranks
Scooping requires a wheel (A-2-3-4-5) that also makes a strong high hand — rare but rewarding
If you have a borderline hand, consider folding early rather than calling streets with a non-qualifying hand
