Tahoe Pitch & Roll is a 7-card stud variant with a distinctive opening action. Each player is dealt 4 face-down cards, then must Pitch (discard) 1 card and Roll (expose) 1 card before the first bet. This leaves 2 hole cards and 1 upcard — the bring-in is then based on the lowest exposed card. Four more face-up cards follow across three betting rounds. Final 7-card hand uses 2 remaining hole cards + 5 upcards; best 5 used for both high and 8-or-better low.

IMPORTANT: The Pitch discards your 4th card permanently — it cannot be retrieved. The Roll exposes one of your remaining 3 cards face-up. Choose strategically: roll a strong card to pressure others, or roll a weak card to conceal your true strength.
