2 or 5 Omaha is a twist on standard Omaha. Each player receives five hole cards and chooses at showdown to use either (A) exactly 2 hole cards + 3 community cards, or (B) all 5 hole cards with no community cards. This gives players the option to "go it alone" with a strong five-card hole hand rather than relying on the board.

The Deal
Each player receives five private hole cards face-down. Five community cards are then dealt face-up in three stages: the flop (3 cards), turn (1 card), and river (1 card).
Showdown Options
Option A: Use exactly 2 of your 5 hole cards + exactly 3 of the 5 community cards
Option B: Use all 5 of your hole cards + 0 community cards
You pick whichever option gives you the better hand — but you must commit to one fully

Flop: After three community cards
Turn: After fourth community card
River: After fifth community card

Strategy Tips
Five connected or suited hole cards (e.g., A-K-Q-J-10) make Option B extremely powerful
A strong two-card combination (e.g., A-A or A-K) works well with Option A
Watch the community cards — if they pair or help opponents, going Option B shields you
Option B means the board is irrelevant to you — great for disguising hand strength
Opponents on Option A need at least two good hole cards; Option B players need all five to work together
