Community Card Game · Blinds · Split Pot · 8 Qualifier
Overview
Very Crazy Pineapple 8 combines the maximum-information discard of Very Crazy Pineapple with a Hi/Lo split pot. Players receive three hole cards and keep all three through pre-flop, the flop, AND the turn — including the turn betting round. Only after the turn betting do players discard one card. The river is then dealt and the pot splits between the best high hand and the best qualifying low hand (five unique ranks, all 8 or lower, Ace plays low).

Split Pot — The Low Hand
To qualify for the low half of the pot, a player must make a five-card hand with five unique ranks, all 8 or lower, using any combination of hole cards and community cards. Ace plays low. If no player qualifies, the high hand wins the entire pot.
How It Differs from Very Crazy Pineapple (no 8)
Very Crazy Pineapple discards after seeing the turn card (before turn betting)
Very Crazy Pineapple 8 discards after the full turn betting round — you know exactly how strong each opponent thinks their hand is before you commit to a discard
The split pot adds another layer: you may keep different cards depending on whether you're chasing high or low
Strategy Tips
By the turn betting round, you have maximum information — four board cards plus betting tells — before discarding
Hands with A-2 or A-3 plus a high card give you flexibility: discard the high card if low develops, or discard a low card if high develops
Boards need at least three low cards (≤8) for any player to qualify for low
Scooping (winning both halves) is the goal — a made low that also makes a high straight or flush is the dream
